Why Live in Bel Air Estates

Located on the northwest side of Clarksville, Bel Air Estates displays the throwback charm of a midcentury neighborhood. Like much of the area of the city, the neighborhood offers ease of access to one of the area’s leading employers, the U.S. Army base at Fort Campbell. “It’s an older neighborhood — a lot of the homes here were built in the ’50s and ’60s,” says Mary McCooley, a Realtor with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty, who has lived in Clarksville for nearly 40 years. “From this side of town, it’s an easy commute up to Fort Campbell.” Bel Air Boulevard runs down the center of the neighborhood, with a wide median between its two lanes. Many of the residential streets sit perpendicular to the boulevard, with the narrow drives often shaded by tree canopies. Brick ranch-style homes comprise much of the area’s housing, generally built between the 1950s and 1970s. They can sell from the upper $100,000s to roughly $300,000.
