Why Live in Greenland Farms

Greenland Farms is one of the southernmost neighborhoods of Clarksville. Its laid-back suburban layout is roughly 4 miles from downtown and 16 miles from Fort Campbell. “This is a military town, so our neighborhood is a true melting pot,” says Richard Smith, a local businessman who builds houses and has lived in three Greenland Farms homes since 2008. “There’s a mixture of lifestyles. A lot of people like to walk around and talk to neighbors, and some stay inside and keep to themselves.” Farmland rolls across Clarksville’s southern border, next to the Cumberland River, which includes one of the city’s most prominent riverside parks. The neighborhood has evolved since development began in the 1990s. Smith says, “There are multiple phases of Greenland Farms—a phase built roughly 30 years ago with typical ranch-style homes, an area built around 2003 and 2004 with brick and vinyl houses, and another development that kicked in around 2018 and 2019 with more luxurious homes.” Ranch-style houses, Cape Cods and New Traditional designs are prevalent throughout Greenland Farms, with prices ranging from $300,000 to $530,000. Most homes are situated next to each other on quarter to half-acre
