Originally designed, in part, as a retirement community for railway mail clerks, Clermont’s Postal Colony neighborhood now offers those who move here a quiet, rural lifestyle close to lakes, with homes on acres of land. Most of Postal Colony has a rural feel, with ranch-style and New Traditional homes sitting on sprawling lots far from roadways and shrouded by tall trees. On the neighborhood’s southwest side are two small subdivisions: Bella Terra and Southern Pines. Both have a more suburban feel, with newly built New Traditional homes sitting a little closer together. HOA fees are $66 a month in Bella Terra and $42 a month in Southern Pines. Homes don’t go on the market often here, but when they do, they range from around $550,000 to around $700,000. Lost Lake Elementary, East Ridge Middle and East Ridge High are assigned to the neighborhood. All three have a B-plus rating on Niche and are within Lake County Schools.
