Richfield
More house for a lower price than than city
In addition to its particularly central location, Richfield is also one of the more buyer-friendly neighborhoods in all of Clifton. “In comparison to places like Rosemawr or Montclair Heights, it’s cheaper,” says Rosado. Streets in Richfield feature sidewalks line with trees and classic styles of housing, with Cape Cod, ranch style, split-level and Colonial Revivals being the most common types of homes. Prices start at around $500,000 and reach $750,000 typically, and lots are generally large enough to accommodate small yards and garden areas. In contrast to the urban sprawl just miles from the neighborhood, residents can count on lush greenery just outside their door. All the essentials, without leaving Clifton
Hot Bagels Abroad is a beloved local establishment, with the old-school counter serving up bagels, sandwiches and platters every day. It's Greek To Me, located in the Promenade Shops at Clifton, offers a fresh take on Greek cuisine, and residents can find more multicultural offerings along nearby Piaget Avenue, such as Agave Cantina Mexicana. Richfield Shopping Center features a Rite Aid for everyday needs and prescriptions, while residents looking to restock the pantry can do so at nearby Clifton Towne Square’s Trader Joes. Retail shopping can be done at The Promenade Shops at Clifton, which features nationally recognized retailers and designer brands.Flags from around the world on display
Community spirit is strong in Clifton, and the area’s multicultural makeup means that community celebrations are welcoming, festive events. “One of the best parts about Richfield is being located next to City Hall,” says Rosado. “Residents can watch the flag raisings in the morning, or just admire all the different country flags on display throughout the day.” The Boys and Girls Club of Clifton is also very active, hosting regular bingo nights and annual events like the Taste of Clifton: Food and Wine Festival.Clifton High features a renowned marching band
Students begin at Clifton School No. 14, which earns a B from Niche. Afterward, students move on to B-minus rated Woodrow Wilson Middle and finish up at B-rated Clifton High. “Clifton is a very sports-oriented town,” says Rosado. “And the schools are no different – the lacrosse and football teams do very well, and the marching band is absolutely excellent.” Members of the Orthodox Jewish community have both the Bais Yaakov of Passaic High School for Girls and the Mesivta of Clifton as private high school options, as well.Oak Ridge Park is home to Little League games
Locals can spend afternoons at Oak Ridge Park, where little ones can make use of the playground. The park is also home to the area’s Little League games, making it a regular community gathering spot. Jubilee Park features walking trails for those looking to get active, while also offering enough open space to have a picnic on the grass. Clifton features many houses of worship, including the Clifton Jewish Center, the Islamic Center of Passaic County and St. Philip the Apostle Roman Catholic Church.Delawanna Station provides straightforward NYC access
Less than 20 miles from the Big Apple, residents can hop on Highway 46 or Garden State Parkway to make their way into the city. Nearby Delawanna Station provides train access, while bus stops run throughout Clifton as well. Though less congested than some suburbs of New York City, traffic still largely depends on the time of day.
