Small-town life with commercial culture
With the water tower rising over the buildings, Crescent is a small town with charm and community. The Frontier County Museum highlights Crescent’s history, dating back to the pioneer days, with a traditional one-room schoolhouse and a Baptist church. Along North Grand Street, many shops are housed in historical buildings. Even though Crescent seems tucked away into a slice of history, businesses bring new life to the town.
Coffee and bookstores in the historic downtown
Rise Coffee House regularly updates its menu with seasonal drinks and daily specials. The old-fashioned letterboard outside points to the café and shouts out local happenings. El Palmo Mexican Restaurant’s menu lists popular Mexican and American options. Paper Pages Bookstore is located in Crescent’s oldest building and offers several book clubs tailored to local tastes and interests. At the Frontier County Museum, locals can learn about the town’s and region’s history and tour restored and preserved historic buildings. Crescent is home to several convenience stores, like Lee’s Easy Stop and Earnheart Quick Stop. Hometown Foods is Crescent’s grocery store, but the Crescent Marketplace brings local produce to residents at its outdoor pavilion.

Ranch homes on gravel driveways
Ranch and Craftsman houses sit on spacious lots with gravel driveways leading to carports. Occasionally, homeowners interested in opening a business can find homes in the historic downtown with an upper residential floor and a lower commercial area. Houses further away from the town center will have lots spanning several acres, with some spanning as many as 12 acres, representing the town’s more rural culture and atmosphere. Homes in Crescent typically sell between $120,000 and $250,000, but people can find plots of land selling closer to $350,000.

Driving around Crescent and beyond
North Grand runs down the center of Crescent and houses most of the town’s stores and restaurants. Out of town, Grand becomes 74, connecting the town to bigger cities. Wide sidewalks in the historic center make walking through the downtown possible, but residents will likely need cars to get to and from their homes and the town center or to amenities beyond the town limits. Guthrie sits just 15 miles to the southeast, providing more commercial options and a busy event calendar. Crescent is about 38 miles from Oklahoma City, giving locals a taste of rural Oklahoma.
