Encompassed by the Five Mile Creek Greenbelt
Kimball is surrounded by opportunities to explore the outdoors. At the 248-acre Kiest Park, just northwest of the community, residents can practice their swing at 16 tennis courts, play volleyball or throw the ball around one of the baseball complexes. A 2-mile nature trail also encompasses the park with exercise stations, connecting the 2-mile Kiestwood Trail, allowing cyclists and hikers to explore multiple neighborhoods. And residents don’t need to travel far for a deeper escape into nature. The 300-acre Five Mile Creek Greenbelt hugs the neighborhood's northern edge, encompassing multiple parks, trails and communities. In 2023, the Texas Department of Transportation granted $6.6 million to the state’s Trust for Public Land to fund the next phase of the expansive planned greenbelt. Once complete, slated for some time in 2024, the greenbelt will connect 17 city parks, two colleges and two light rail stations. For now, residents can easily access Pecan Grove, Westhaven and Briar Gate parks. And just north of Kimball, hikers and cyclists can spend all day in the 120-acre Oak Park Cliff Nature Preserve. The refuge offers eight miles of trails through woodlands and wildflower meadows.

It’s amazing.” The median lot size starts at 11,000 square feet and can span up to nearly 1 acre. Most homes were built in the early 1960s and range from $245,000 to $850,000.
