Contemporary and classic Louisiana styles Blending its past with its present and future, a walk down a street in Geismar may evoke the sense of being transported back in time—with traditional French Country and Acadian style homes still being very present in the area. Many of these homes have been meticulously maintained to remain as they were, while others feature modern updates. In addition to these classic styles, homebuyers can expect to see many contemporary custom and cottage styles too. Prices for three/four-bedroom homes in the area typically range from $250,000 to $600,000. Dutchtown Crossing serves as the community’s shopping center, featuring a variety of other local and chain options for days when driving into Baton Rouge isn’t on the agenda.
