Shopping near Daytona International Airport
Greater Daytona’s shopping options are somewhat limited, but Highway 92 offers residents a straight shot to the extensive shopping centers and malls surrounding Daytona Beach International Airport, just 5 miles east of the neighborhood. There, locals have their pick of numerous local shops and department stores, including Target and The Home Depot. They can also visit the Daytona Flea & Farmers Market, a great place to find fresh produce and great bargains. The airport-adjacent shopping centers are also where Greater Daytona residents usually head when they want to go out to eat—they’re home to dozens of eateries featuring a variety of cuisines. There are a couple of restaurants in Greater Daytona itself: Good Eats to Go is a popular spot for take out, while the idiosyncratic Genie Steak House and Sea Food requires a reservation, as its owner serves as waiter, cook and bartender.
Getting around with U.S. 92 and I-4
It’s a little less than ten miles from Greater Daytona’s residential neighborhoods to Downtown Daytona via U.S. Highway 92, and about a mile further to the beach itself. Locals looking to get up and down the coast can hop on Interstate 95, while Interstate 4, which passes just south of the neighborhood, connects to Orlando and the Lake Monroe area. Daytona Beach International Airport is just 5 miles away from the neighborhood and offers regular flights to Atlanta, Charlotte, Philadelphia and New Haven.
