Eastwood charm in full bloom with bougainvilleas gracing the neighborhood.
An established El Paso suburb
10 miles east of downtown El Paso, the suburb of Eastwood Heights attracts families with school-aged children and residents looking for a quieter way of life while still having access to local amenities. “It’s a very safe, highly desirable neighborhood, and all the aspects of what makes a good home and a good community are displayed here,” says area resident Charles Clark, a Realtor with Century 21 Clark Brothers, Inc. “It's an older, more well-established neighborhood, and people are drawn here and tend to live here for decades because of its proximity to schools, parks, and the airport. The schools are highly rated, and I’ve had clients tell me they want to buy a home here just so their kids can go to Eastwood High.”
Traveling the tree-lined streets of Texas
Buyers can primarily find traditional midcentury ranch-style homes ranging from roughly $100,000 to $400,000, depending on square footage. “You can find starter homes from 1,200 to 1,300 square feet, depending on the condition, in the low $100,000s to $200,000s, and bigger homes around 2,500 square feet starting around $350,000,” Clark says. “There are a lot of older homes built back in the ‘60s, and people are coming in and fixing them up, so there’s lots of great housing opportunities here.” As one of El Paso’s more established neighborhoods, many properties, particularly those with larger yards, have mature Afghan pines and palm trees. Residents can enjoy the expansive sidewalk system that lines virtually every street here, allowing for easy and safe walks.
