Fort Lauderdale holds an annual 4th of July Spectacular on the beach. The event includes live music, vendors and a fireworks display. The Coral Ridge Yacht Club has regular banquets and dinners for its members. Coral Ridge residents travel 15 ½ miles west to Amerant Bank Arena to watch performances by musicians like Drake and comedians like Katt Williams. The Florida Panthers, a professional ice hockey team, has matches at the arena. Folks travel 4 miles southwest to explore over 7,500 works at the NSU Art Museum.
Access to public transportation
Residents can walk to the mall, the beach, the parks and the Publix. Broward County Transit operates bus stops along North Federal Highway and East Oakland Park Boulevard. Residents travel 4 miles to access Fort Lauderdale’s Brightline station, an inter-city rail that connects residents to Miami and Orlando. Fort Lauderdale International Airport is 7 miles from Coral Ridge. Residents drive 29 miles south to Miami and 20 miles north to Boca Raton via Interstate 95. “The main thoroughfare is Bayview Drive, and there is a great walking/cycling route,” Carbonell says.
