Situated halfway between Fort Wayne and New Haven is Adams Township, an hourglass-shaped neighborhood that offers residents easy access to city amenities, while still maintaining the peace and quiet associated with a more rural setting. With Highway 930 running across the northern boundary of the neighborhood, Interstate 469 is easy for residents to access. At the same time, those who want to embrace a more agrarian ethos will find the southern section of the neighborhood to be full of wide-open space and homes separated by up to a mile. The area’s location does make it entirely car-dependent, and there are no rapid transit stops nearby. And potential buyers should be aware, too, that while sidewalks are plentiful in certain areas, they are nonexistent in others. “It’s hard to beat the location," says Realtor Ahtway Freeda, who has been representing sales in Adams Township for over a decade. “You’re close to the city and can get there easily, but it’s still like living in the country in some places.”

From modest ranch-style homes to new construction

In addition to a rigorous academic curriculum, students at Heritage High School have the opportunity to play 13 different varsity-level sports. True outdoor enthusiasts can take an overnight trip to the River Camp Fort Wayne campsites, a private camp that offers sites for individuals, groups and RVs, as well as access to the adjacent St. Mary’s River for canoeing or kayaking. Those who prefer to get their recreation indoors can head to Planet Fitness located off Highway 27 southern Adams Township, and parents can entertain kids at Thunderbowl bowling alley or Bell’s Skating Rink. And with downtown Fort Wayne just a short drive away, Adams Township residents can get to that urban center with ease for any other amenities they might be seeking.
