Hamilton Square

Located in Mercer County

$538,258 Average Value

When Hamilton Square comes to mind, one might think of its Founding Father namesake and a hit musical, or social media users may think of the TikTok sensation “Sally Slices” and his family pizzeria, Marcello’s. Beyond the pop culture, however, Hamilton Square offers a serene, suburban environment close to the state capital of Trenton and major interstate highways.

While Hamilton Square is an unincorporated village within the larger Hamilton Township, it was Hamilton Square that lent its name to the greater community, having itself been named for Founding Father Alexander Hamilton during the early 19th century. This village has not only contributed its name to Trenton’s largest suburb, but was also home to George R. Robbins – the namesake of Robbinsville – and to John Taylor, inventor of New Jersey’s famous “pork roll” (often called “Taylor ham” in his honor).

Hamilton Square differs from several neighboring communities in that its home styles tend to display more recent trends rather than the area’s origins in the colonial era; while neighboring towns such as Robbinsville tend to be awash with colonial-style residences, Hamilton Square has an abundance of single-floor residences and family homes built in the 1960s. Hamilton Square’s residential streets are lined with bungalows, ranch-style homes, and multi-floor family homes, and its streetscapes are marked by spacious front lawns and wide streets flanked by sidewalks. Hamilton Square has an average home price of $450,000, well below the state average of $500,000, but significantly above the Mercer County average of $330,000.

One of Hamilton Square’s most famous local restaurants is Marcello’s Pizza-Grill. Branding itself as home of the “Corleone-style pizza,” this restaurant is even more famous because of the exceptional service and welcome from the father-son team that runs this restaurant. TikTok star Salvatore “Sally Slices” Mandreucci, who works with his father Marcello, has made this pizzeria world-famous due to his motivational videos filmed during his day job at the pizzeria, to the extent that visitors from across the country visit this eatery, and Marcello’s has been able to sell frozen Corleone pizzas nationwide as a result. This restaurant, and the family team behind it, are certainly worth a visit.

Hamilton Plaza serves as Hamilton Square’s commercial hub, and its stores include a ShopRite supermarket, a Petco pet store, and a handful of dollar stores. At the eastern end of the neighborhood, the Foxmoor Shopping Center offers its own selection of businesses, from a Planet Fitness to a Dollar Tree and several restaurants.

Hamilton Square’s students live near Alexander Elementary School, Reynolds Middle School, and Steinert High School, which all sit within blocks of each other for maximum convenience. Students graduating from Steinert High will share an alma mater with Supreme Court associate justice Samuel Alito and dozens of professional athletes.

Hamilton Square’s location near Interstates 295 and 95 ensures that trips to both Philadelphia and New York City are a matter of around an hour’s drive. Additionally, Hamilton Square’s location near the rail hub of Trenton provides commuters with another popular means of traveling to either city.
