The small village of Interlochen sits next to Green Lake and Duck Lake in Grand Traverse County. Although residents don’t live along the lakefront, a nearby state park offers access to both bodies of water. The village is a bit isolated, but locals still have amenities nearby. “It’s comparable to a small town, but with enough standalone restaurants and grocery stores to provide services for its residents,” says commercial real estate agent Marty Stevenson with Exit Realty Paramount. Additionally, a well-regarded music and arts academy overlooks the lakes, bringing an active creative community to the area.
