Northwood is a neighborhood in Kalamazoo Township that mostly consists of homes and acres of farmland and woods. The area also has an industrial district with auto repair shops, manufacturing facilities and cannabis dispensaries. Kalamazoo Township Supervisor David Combs calls Northwood very community-centric. “The community up there is thriving. It’s centered around Northwood Elementary School and the Little League up there,” says Combs. “Speaking as a new homeowner myself, those sort of tight-knit communities are becoming more and more attractive to folks in their 20s who are beginning to put down their roots.” Mature trees and colorful flower beds are near many homes here.
