Katy is convenient to several commercial districts, so commute times vary greatly. Many people in Katy work in Downtown Houston, Sugar Land, and the Energy Corridor. Traveling downtown during a traffic rush takes about one hour. Sugar Land has an average commute of 35 minutes while the Energy Corridor is closer to 25 minutes. Katy has several bus stops, but the main mode of transportation is by car. Residents use Route 90 and Interstate 10 to travel across metro Houston.
