In the northwest outskirts of Houston near the city of Katy, Green Trails is a master-planned neighborhood made up of several residential subdivisions. Bordering the neighborhood to the north is Interstate 10, an east-west arterial highway that travels in a straight line between central Katy and downtown Houston. “Between the location and schools, it’s a very sought-after area,” says Kerri Schultz, a local Realtor with Keller Williams Premier Realty. “The neighborhood is zoned for the Katy Independent School District but still has a Houston address.” Green Trails has an overall CAP Index crime score of 2 out of 10, lower than the national average score of 4. “Once people move here, they don’t leave. It’s a very family-oriented neighborhood,” Schultz says. In Green Trails, potential homebuyers will find tree-lined cul-de-sacs and winding residential streets flanked by rows of single-family homes dating back to the 1990s. “It’s not a newer development; there have been a lot of renovations on the older homes,” Schultz says.
