Buckingham Park, a neighborhood largely governed by a homeowners association with private amenities and a golf course, juts out into Clear Lake, the largest natural body of water in California. “Buckingham Park has long been known as one of the best communities around the lake,” says Yvonne Wicks, a Realtor with City Center Realty and a Lake County resident of about 45 years. “It has its own microclimate [with proximity to Mount Konocti, a dormant volcano], so orange and grapefruit trees are really abundant, even though they’re not in any other area of Northern California or Lake County.” Lengthy driveways lead to houses shrouded by trees that line the outer edges of the peninsula that is Buckingham Park.
