Riviera West is one of several communities that line the southern shore of Clear Lake, considered one of the oldest lakes in North America and the largest natural lake in California. “We’re slightly remote, but there’s lots of stuff to do in the summer,” says Yvonne Wicks, a Realtor with City Center Realty and a Lake County resident of about 45 years. The neighborhood is also home to the Konocti Harbor Resort & Spa, once the largest outdoor concert venue for miles. Musicians such as John Denver, Fleetwood Mac and Black Sabbath previously graced its stage until the resort closed in 2009. The resort was repurchased in 2018, and several of its restaurants, its marina and its rooms have been remodeled and reopened since. The new owners say they hope to restore the amphitheater as well and bring the music back. “It’s what made Riviera West very popular. Famous people came from all over to perform,” Wicks says. “Those concerts were a big deal.
