A diverse community with local eateries and a nearby art scene
In true Florida fashion, the neighborhood of Tropical Ridge offers colorful houses, lush greenery and a friendly atmosphere that all live up to its sunny sobriquet. “The community of Tropical Ridge is incredibly diverse,” says Alexis, resident and owner of a local breakfast spot, Clary’s Corner Café. However, unlike most of the tropics, residents won’t need a boat to reach the flavors of local restaurants, downtown Lake Worth Beach’s thriving art scene, or the beaches of the Atlantic coastline nearby.
Tropical Ridge homes can be seen sporting bright colors and small palm trees.

Friendly neighbors and affordable homes
The sidewalks and bike lanes of Tropical Ridge are well-traveled by its residents. “There are always people walking around the community,” says Arula. “It’s not the kind of community where people just keep to themselves.” Running parallel to these sidewalks are modest front yards filled with lush landscaping synonymous with Southern Florida. Sitting atop each are ranch and bungalow-style homes built through the 1900s, with some popping up through the 2020s. Homes in Tropical Ridge are more affordable than those in communities that sit closer to the waterfront and range from $250,000 to $550,000, depending on size and condition.

Clary's Corner Café and Guatemalan pastries
When it’s time for breakfast, locals head to Clary’s Corner Café, a small diner that serves classic American fare, like its popular skillet brisket, in an intimate setting and claims to have the best breakfast in Lake Worth. Nearby sits Jerome’s Best Caribbean Food, home to authentic Haitian cuisine, and El Quetzal Bakery, where classic Guatemalan baked goods are picked up to go. Grocery shopping is done at Publix Super Market along North Dixie Highway, also home to unique businesses like Trashé Vintage, a clothing store and several art galleries.

Annual Street Painting Festival
Art is a huge part of Lake Worth Beach’s culture and community. One of the best examples of this is the annual Street Painting Festival. Each year, hundreds of artists flock to the downtown streets of Lake Worth Beach to create stunning works of art using chalk. These temporary murals only last until the next rain but attract locals and visitors to this combination of street festival and live art display.
Learning new languages at Highland Elementary School
When it’s time for class, young students head to Highland Elementary School on the east side of the Tropical Ridge. The school has earned a C from Niche and offers a Spanish dual language program, allowing students to start learning another language as early as kindergarten. Older students will attend Lake Worth Middle School, which has a C on Niche, before heading to Lake Worth High School, which has been given a C-plus.

Days at Lake Worth Beach and native manatees
For a waterfront excursion without leaving Lake Worth, Tropical Ridge is located between two great recreation spots. Lake Osborne offers more than 300 acres of fishing and boating to the west, surrounded by miles of parks and paved greenways to explore. Meanwhile, native wildlife like manatees, sea turtles and ospreys can be spotted in the waters of the Intracoastal Waterway to the east. Residents can also head across the waterway for a day at Lake Worth Beach Park, just over 2 miles away.
