Urban community with small-town charm
Lansdowne is a small Delaware County borough at the edge of West Philadelphia. Situated between city and county, Lansdowne blends urban and suburban living into one compact and cohesive community. “[Lansdowne] has always had a small-town feel to it. When people see Lansdowne, they love that it is so community driven. It’s very diverse, and everyone seems to fit right in,” says Amber Noble, a Realtor/Broker with Keller Williams Main Line & Jersey, who grew up in the area. “Lansdowne is a very walkable town. Residents can stroll to local businesses and eateries. And it’s just cool to walk around and look at the architecture. The entire town is a point of interest,” Noble says.

Most homes in Lansdowne were built between the late 1800s and mid-1900s. On any given day, dogwalkers and others stroll on sidewalks along wide, tree-lined streets. Most homes sit back from the street behind neat lawns. “Although each home looks different, it all feels very aesthetically connected because there is such a pride of ownership throughout Lansdowne,” Noble explains. “There’s never been a high turnover of homes. People love the Cape Cods, bungalows and twins in the area. There are also an extraordinary number of Victorians here.” Home prices for twin homes range between $200,000 to $300,000. Expect to pay close to $500,000 for a Victorian home.
