Why Live in Coral Heights

When it comes down to it, Coral Heights is a standard, no-frills Florida neighborhood about 25 miles west of Tampa. Its subdivisions, which frame some of southern Largo’s more industrial areas, share many of the qualities that draw people to the state as a whole: warm weather, a lack of state income taxes and lower home costs compared to other parts of the country. Clearwater is 8 miles away, but major roads make it relatively easy to also reach St. Petersburg and Tampa. Perhaps more importantly for some residents, a few major Gulf beaches are about 20 minutes away. “So it’s kind of the best of several worlds, really,” Copeland says. “From the weather to the cost, not to mention the beaches.” Small ranch-style homes and simple Cape Cods and bungalows are common in Coral Heights.
