The neighborhood consists of six residential streets within a 0.02-mile radius, featuring over 30 homes primarily built between the 1930s and 1950s. These homes, mostly bungalows and ranch-style houses, sit on lots ranging from a quarter to one acre, with some properties offering views of expansive farmland. Despite the tranquility, the nearby train tracks can occasionally disrupt the peace. The community includes a Jefferson County fire station and two churches on Oak Street, one of which, Crossroads Cowboy Church, is notable for its country Western worship music and rodeo arena. For shopping and dining, residents travel 10 miles to Lawrence, which features numerous big box retailers and a variety of restaurants, or 4 miles to Perry for a more small-town experience with local eateries like Gambino’s Pizza and Perry Bar & Grill.
