Why Live in Loradale

Located in the city’s northeast corner, Loradale is a gateway to the Lexington region’s horse country. In contrast to most of the city, Loradale consists of rural land home to various equine operations. She also appreciates the weather. “It’s not San Diego,” she says. “It gets cold in the winter, but it’s not freezing like up north.” Barns, stables and grazing horses dot Loradale’s vast farmland. Rows of mature trees, stone walls and fences line parts of the area’s quiet two-lane country roads. “Based on my knowledge, the ability to buy a house and small acreage out there is probably pretty limited,” says Rita Jones, a farmer and Realtor with Keller Williams. “Out in that rural area, it’s predominantly larger acreage farms.”  The housing includes ranch-style homes, split-levels and some
