Small-town living south of Bel Air

Bright Oaks is a small residential area tucked between Emmorton's shopping centers and the Patterson Mill Middle High School. Though it falls within Emmorton, most people consider it a little community in Abingdon. “The community here is thriving and growing. With the robust nature of the APG up the road, that’s done some really great things for the area. Being off the I-95 corridor makes living here really accessible to everything,” says Sean Gomez, the general manager of Pairings Bistro at the Village Market and Cafe. “The community has been hyper supportive of the business over the last 15 years.” Local supermarkets and small businesses give Bright Oaks a small-town feel. The town has highly-rated public schools and several parks and trails to explore. Housing consists of a few neighborhoods and cul-de-sacs that branch off of Kensington Parkway. Nearby Bel Air has dozens of shopping, dining and entertainment opportunities, and commuters can hop on Interstate 95 to reach Baltimore in about an hour.
