Coventry Crossing is a West Akron neighborhood near major highways
As a planned community, Coventry Crossing offers its residents a built-in network of neighbors, events and maintenance through its homeowners association. However, it is this neighborhood’s location that draws people in. Firestone Metro Park is a sprawling green space many people can walk to from their homes, with rolling hills and a dense forest of trees. It is next to Firestone Country Club, which has three courses for its members. Shopping and dining options are within a few miles, made accessible by Interstate 77.

New traditional homes with a community association
Sidewalks line the main loop of Coventry Crossing and many of the cul-de-sacs that branch off the loop. Oak trees and shrubbery decorate trimmed lawns. New traditional homes boasting colonial influences were built between the 1980s and early 2000s. “Everything is a little bit different, and there is a little bit of room between every house,” says Kathy Forchione, Realtor with Culter Real Estate and former resident who has worked in Akron for nearly 15 years. While several houses are Colonial Revivals, others have more geometric designs with garages in the front. Three to four-bedroom properties typically cost $235,000 to $330,000, less than the national median.
Besides helping maintain the neighborhood, the Coventry Crossing Community Association hosts events throughout the year. These include seasonal celebrations like Easter egg hunts and trick-or-treating and casual hangouts like garage sales and community dinners. Annual community association fees cover these social events, as well as management and maintenance of common properties.

Intersection of major highways has minimal impact on noise levels
Coventry Crossing is at the junction of Interstate 277 and Interstate 77. “There are probably a few houses that are right on the highway, but then there’s the whole neighborhood that comes away from it, so it’s not too bad,” Forchione says. “There is some noise for a few houses where their backyard is the highway – they can see and hear the highway.” While Akron-Canton Airport is only about 10 miles away, many people will travel about 44 miles to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.
