Trees surround homes and condo communities
Thick collections of oak trees open up to subdivisions in the High Hampton area. Sidewalks line the winding roads and cul-de-sacs, and most homes have wide driveways, two-car garages and manicured lawns. Colonial Revivals and new traditional houses built between the 1980s and early 2000s often feature arched windows and hipped roofs. “There’s all kinds of different homes and prices,” Boggs says. Prices vary depending on the community. Properties in The Highlands typically cost between $350,000 to $425,000, while those in the High Hampton or Cross Creek subdivisions fall between $535,000 and $750,000. In the southern part of the neighborhood, dense forests surround condos built in the 1970s and 1980s. Depending on size, these contemporary units range from $90,000 to $250,000.Nearby city and national parks have outdoor recreation
Keyser Park has baseball and soccer fields, walking trails, a playground and a dog park. Residents can rent a community garden plot at the park. The Cuyahoga River winds through the nearby Cuyahoga Valley National Park, which spans over 33,000 acres with forests, wetlands and farmlands. There are also over 125 miles of hiking trails. “There’s also a waterfall down there that my wife and I have visited a number of times,” says Jim West, Realtor with Howard Hanna. “I’ve even taken my grandkids there to see it.” Blossom Music Center, an outdoor venue that can hold over 19,000 people, is the summer home of the Cleveland Orchestra.Woodbridge schools and private options are available
The Woodbridge Local School District serves High Hampton families. Woodbridge Elementary School receives a B from Niche, while Woodbridge Middle School has a B-plus. At the B-rated Woodbridge High School, career and technical education programs like the Biomedical Science and Technology Academy are available to students. Walsh Jesuit High School, which earns a B-plus, is one of the private options in the area.Cars and buses on State Road lead to Downtown Akron
State Road connects the neighborhood to Downtown Akron, about 6 miles away. “I take it quite a bit rather than taking the freeway – it’s a shortcut,” West says. Akron METRO runs a bus route along the road. The nearest highway is State Route 8, which runs along the Cuyahoga River and merges with Interstate 77. The closest airport is Akron-Canton Airport, about 22 miles away, although many people will travel about 35 miles to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.Residents frequent shopping centers and Downtown Cuyahoga Falls
High Hampton is near two major shopping centers: Northampton Square and Portage Crossing. Northampton Square is home to doctor’s offices and regional chains like On Tap, which serves American fare and has a wing buffet every Monday. At Portage Crossing, chain restaurants surround the Market District grocery store. Walmart is about 3 miles away, while Target and Home Depot are about 5 miles away. In Downtown Cuyahoga Falls, restaurants range from fine dining at Beau’s on the River to Moe’s Restaurant, which changes its menu seasonally and offers views of the Cuyahoga River. The Natatorium is an indoor fitness center with over 60 weekly workout and aquatic classes. Residents can attend Falls Downtown Fridays, a free summer concert series with beer, food trucks, and artist vendors during the summer.
