Northeast Heights brings convenience to the suburbs

Located near the foothills of the Sandia Mountains, Northeast Heights is a suburban Albuquerque neighborhood known for its proximity to everyday necessities. “It’s very well laid out, with good schools and commercial areas conveniently tucked in,” says Re/Max Realtor Jean Chavez, who has sold in the city for 25 years. The neighborhood is ideal for professionals working on the city's outskirts in the Sandia research parks, laboratories or the Kirtland Air Force Base. “One of the biggest reasons those workers may move here is so they don’t have to cross the Rio Grande during rush hour.” While accessibility is a top draw to Northeast Heights, it’s also popular for its parks and quiet residential streets.

Ranch-style homes within walking distance of parks

Buyers will primarily find single-family ranch-style homes with Spanish Mission and Pueblo influences. Many facades have earthy tones, and most were constructed with stucco siding in the mid-20th century. Prices go from $220,000 to $600,000, though outliers fall on both ends of the range. Residential streets typically have sidewalks and driveways to keep parked cars off the road. Most homes sit either right off or within walking distance of a community park.
