Acadian Village has retro appeal
Acadian Village brims with 1960s cottages and ranch-style homes. They rest on compact grassy lots peppered with mature oak and pine trees. Many feature amenities like fenced-in backyards and paved driveways leading to carports. Turnkey homes range from $100,000 to $150,000, while properties that require extensive renovation run from $25,000 to $60,0000. “It is 100% one of the more affordable neighborhoods in Alexandria,” says Carissa McDaniel, a Realtor with EXP Realty who grew up in the city. “It would appeal to first-time homebuyers or maybe senior homebuyers who are looking for a low-maintenance lifestyle. The lots are small, so they don’t have to worry about cutting a lot of grass, and the hospitals are close by so they can get to their doctors’ appointments easily.”
