Wilshire Park is right next to Alexandria's main thoroughfares

Wilshire Park’s central location is what sets it apart from other neighborhoods in Alexandria, Louisiana. It’s bordered by MacArthur Drive and Jackson Street, the city’s main thoroughfares. “That’s the spot to be. You are dead in the middle of everything,” says Katelyn Coombs, marketing coordinator with the Alexandria/Pineville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, who grew up in Alexandria. “MacArthur Drive has all your chain restaurants and hotels. Kroger is on the corner of Jackson and MacArthur. That’s where most people do their grocery shopping. There are also lots of boutiques on Jackson Street. You’ve got Jerry Lee & Company for men’s clothing; Southern Accents is a women’s boutique and Schnack’s for fine jewelry.” In addition to being close to shopping and restaurants, Wilshire Park residents are 3 miles from downtown entertainment and 2 miles from Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, one of the city’s biggest employers with more than 1,500 staff members.
