Children may go to Asa Packer Elementary School, which earns an overall grade of A-minus from Niche, before moving on to the B-minus-graded Nitschmann Middle School. Teens can attend Liberty High School off Linden Street. Earning a Niche grade of B-plus, the high school offers a wide range of extracurricular clubs and organizations from DECA and FBLA to step team and a robotics club. It also boasts a competitive athletics program that produced a state championship-winning varsity football team in 2008.
Liberty High School serves 2,800 students in grades 9-12.

Hanover locals have excellent road and highway access with the Lehigh Valley Thruway cutting across the township. Residents also neighbor Lehigh Valley International Airport, which is stationed on Hanover's westside. "The Lehigh Valley area is one of the hottest markets in the entire country because of our proximity to Philadelphia, New Jersey and New York," Getz says. "We can get to the Pocono Mountains in 20 or 30 minutes, we can to the Appalachian Trail in 20 or 30 minutes, we have a lot of skiing and hiking and rivers. It's just extremely popular."

Hanover locals don't need to travel far to pick up groceries. Hanoverville Road House is another can't-miss — especially for history buffs. Operating in a nearly 200-year-old building that formerly served as a stagecoach stop, the restaurant has a historic feel and offers American comfort foods from burgers and fries to chicken wings and ribs.

Neighborhood kids flock to Hanover Township Municipal Park in droves after school. The community playground is an excellent place to meet for a friendly play date while its basketball courts draw sports lovers from across the township. The park is a stone's throw from the Hanover Township Community Center, which contains a fitness center and gymnasium. The community center's public pool is a hot spot during the humid Pennsylvania summers while the annual Hanover Days Carnival — a yearly celebration featuring carnival rides, food and live entertainment — serves as a fun event for residents. "The community center, every day, they have all kinds of stuff going on," Getz says. "It's a popular place to be in the community because there's so much that they offer."
