Brick ranch-style houses and bungalows range from around 900 to 1,300 square feet. While some properties are from the early 2000s, most homes were built in the 1940s and 1950s. Compact lots are spaced tightly together and have tidy front yards, fenced-in backyards and a garage. Houses are separated from neighborhood streets by a sidewalk that winds through the community. Prices range from $110,000 to $275,000, with the larger homes costing more. The accessible price points make this an attractive place for investors to buy and flip homes or put them up for rent. “Our market is moving slower right now,” White says. “Showings seem to be down, but its stable. It's not moving nearly as fast as it was over the last three years.”

Public and private school options in South Lawn
South Lawn is part of the Amarillo Independent School District (AISD), which gets 67uuan A-minus on Niche, and serves around 30,000 students. Bill’s Backyard Classics on Washington Road is a locally owned car museum adjacent to South Lawn. The museum has a collection of more than 90 classic cars from the 1920s to 2012.
