Suburban convenience in Allen

Just a mere 3 miles from the vibrant streets of downtown Ann Arbor, Allen is the typical walkable and quiet suburban enclave. Allen checks all the suburban community boxes: elementary schools, spacious play areas, community gardens, shopping malls and easy highway access. “This is a trendy area for families with young children,” says Ashley Gartrelle, a Realtor with More Group Michigan, LLC, with more than six years of experience in the industry. “With mature tree-lined streets with speed bumps, pedestrian walking signs scattered generously throughout, and Allen Elementary School nestled in the center, you can see why it’s so desirable,” Gartelle says.

Condos, traditional and ranch-style homes

Houses in the neighborhood include a range of minimal traditional, ranch-style properties and lovingly maintained Split-Level homes. Prospective homebuyers can expect median sales prices to hover around $318,000. Cottage-style and modern condominiums can start in the mid $100,000s, primarily for smaller, one-to-two-bedroom properties, and can go up to the $700,000s. Single-family, three-bedroom homes can start in the mid $200,000s and also reach up to the $700,000s. Newer developments in the area feature traditional properties with elegant, multi-peaked rooflines. Lots are larger than those closer to downtown Ann Arbor, so homes tend to sit further away from the street.
