Taking to the Huron River and local parks
Water Hill has an abundance of parks and is considered the area's main attraction. Some green spaces offer direct access to the Huron River. At Bandemer Park, locals can enjoy a day of kayaking along the river or play a round of disc golf on a course that winds through the forest. Kuebler Langford Nature Area and Bird Hills Nature Area both feature hilly trails through dense sections of woods for walking or hiking through the neighborhood's natural surroundings. Water Hill public school students may attend Wines Elementary School on the north side, while Bach Elementary School on the south side is known for its English language learning courses for students from international backgrounds. The schools receive A ratings from Niche. Older students attend Slauson Middle School or Forsythe Middle School, earning A ratings as well. Skyline High School has an A-plus and is known by Ann Arbor locals for its Magnet Programs focusing on Communications Media, Business, Health Care and STEM.

Residents benefit from a diverse selection of nearby shopping and restaurant options. Within a mile, Kerrytown Market & Shops is known for its expansive farmers market and boutique feel in a busy, mini-mall setting. Water Hill is also convenient to grocery stores such as Aldi and Kroger.With many breweries and bars in the area, Water Hill locals can check out spots like Ann Arbor Distilling Co. for a mix of cocktails and craft beer, with food truck munchies positioned just outside the brewery. Serving up Japanese and Korean dishes, Miki Japanese Restaurant is a local mainstay known for its friendly service, sushi and beer. A popular spot for a sandwich is Zingerman's Delicatessen, where the Reuben is so popular that the restaurant served it to famous patrons like President Obama and Oprah Winfrey.

On weekends, the University of Michigan provides more chances for outdoor recreation, entertainment and culture, with many concerts and events taking place around campus. And of course, the Wolverines football games are always big events at the nearby University of Michigan.
