Water Hill contains a mix of housing styles

Standing out amongst the neighborhood's eclectic mix of homes are The Painted Ladies of Ann Arbor. Attending Ann Arbor Public Schools
Water Hill public school students may attend Wines Elementary School on the north side, while Bach Elementary School on the south side is known for its English language learning courses for students from international backgrounds. Water Hill has an abundance of parks and is considered the area's main attraction. Some green spaces offer direct access to the Huron River. At Bandemer Park, locals can enjoy a day of kayaking along the river or play a round of disc golf on a course that winds through the forest. Kuebler Langford Nature Area and Bird Hills Nature Area both feature hilly trails through dense sections of woods for walking or hiking through the neighborhood's natural surroundings. Smaller, community-minded parks such as Hunt Park and Mixtwood Pomona Park provide spaces for lounging in the sun, along with kid-friendly playgrounds. Hunt Park also has basketball and tennis courts.

On weekends, the University of Michigan provides more chances for outdoor recreation, entertainment and culture, with many concerts and events taking place around campus. A popular spot for a sandwich is Zingerman's Delicatessen, where the Reuben is so popular that the restaurant served it to famous patrons like President Obama and Oprah Winfrey.
