Ardmore

Ranch homes and residential privacy
Stylized ranch homes and Craftsman-inspired styles make up much of the area, with residents decorating the porches and painting shutters for a personal touch. Residential privacy and acreage are a massive draw for those buying in the area, and while there are plenty of midcentury homes, Ardmore is seeing new development. Contemporary new traditional homes in small subdivisions have made their way onto the market. "You can get a lot of real estate for your money in the area," Johnson says. "Even though Limestone County is the fastest growing county in Alabama, you can still get a little more bang for your buck." Older, classic-style homes typically sell for between $200,000 and $300,000, while larger properties built in the 21st century sit between $310,000 and $380,000.Local businesses along Ardmore Avenue
Local businesses line the street along the neighbor's main thoroughfare of Old U.S. 31, also known as Ardmore Avenue. From the handmade accessories and bright clothing at Main Street Chic Boutique, while Moody's Barber Shop has a whole set of loyal patrons. Cassie's Café serves up down-home southern comfort with classic American breakfast items, and Mildred Dollar, who has lived in the community her entire life and owns Mildred's Restaurants, has set up one of the best homestyle buffets off I-65.Getting schooled with Limestone County
Ardmore is served by the Limestone County School District, and children in town attend Cedar Hill Elementary, rated with a B on Niche. The school has been a part of the community for over a century. Students move on to Ardmore High, which serves sixth through twelfth grade. The school receives an overall C-plus and excels in extracurriculars. For over 50 years, the school has held the Miss AHS Beauty Pageant and Top Tiger Contest. The high school has some great athletics programs, with Friday night football being a community-wide event.Getting outdoors at Ardmore Town Park
Ardmore Town Park has plenty of recreational facilities for residents to enjoy. Tennis, basketball, pickleball, and sand volleyball are all available. Walking tracks composed of two different surfaces weave through the park. There's a paved quarter-mile oval surface track and a gravel quarter-mile walking track for locals to enjoy a stroll. Kids can play on the park's playground, decked out with a zip line, saucer swing and other fun play equipment.Seasonal gathering with the community
One of Ardmore's biggest events is its annual Christmas Parade on the first weekend of December, where the community gathers to watch floats and local organizations march down the main streets. They also host a meet and pictures with Santa in the Town Hall.Routing Alabama and Tennessee
Main Street is shared by Ardmore, Alabama and Ardmore, Tennessee. The center of Ardmore is only a couple miles from the main thoroughfare of Interstate 65, which stretches from Indiana to Mobile, Alabama. Ardmore is 29 miles from Huntsville, around a 35-minute drive.
