West Arlington provides parks, top schools and eateries close to home

West Arlington residents can find opportunities for dining, schooling and fun times close to home. Large, multi-use green spaces serve as social hubs. A mix of older and newer homes surrounds them, and the houses generally cost below the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex average. The large community is zoned for several highly rated public schools and is near some of the region’s top private academies. Those amenities and the lack of traffic in other parts of Arlington make the area stand out.

Traditional and custom brick houses on curved streets

The suburban neighborhood has a wide range of property values. Traditional brick homes from the 1970s and 1980s can sell between $210,000 and $475,000. Custom and recently renovated properties often cost $500,000 to $750,000, though select homes can reach $1 million or more. Condos and townhomes can range from $110,000 to $220,000. “West Arlington traditionally has less value than other parts of the city, but more than in East Fort Worth,” says Jon Smedley, a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty. While some subdivisions have grid-like patterns, many residential roads have curves and branch in several directions. The asphalt streets usually have at least one sidewalk. Front yards generally feature small to medium trees and bushes. Mailboxes can sit on posts or inside brick holders.
