Colonial homes offer a classic suburban feel

A variety of Colonial Revival homes are strewn across Ashland’s subdivisions; contemporary custom styles built in the early 2000s sit along the curvy, shaded streets of Wildwood Estates, while sough-after Liberty Estates features grand traditional styles on larger 1-acre lots. Smaller 3- to 4-bedroom split-level homes, Cape Cods and 1960s cottages are also found within the neighborhood, many with modest front lawns framed by established trees. Townhouse and condo options round out the housing stock here, with prices starting at around $320,000. Though the median price for real estate hovers around $600,000, listing prices for single-family houses can range from $450,000 to $1.3 million.
According to the CAP Index, Ashland receives a crime score of 2 out of 10, which is lower than the US national average of 4.

The library offers writing workshops, craft days and the popular read-to-a-dog event where children can practice their literacy skills with a couple of nonjudgmental Corgis. “We want people to come see what we’re doing,” says library director Meena Jain. “We like to be hyper-local, but we also enjoy having a larger audience.”
