Established community near Westside Reservoir Park
Carver Hills is a growing neighborhood near Westside Reservoir Park, Atlanta’s largest green space. The community dates to the late 1940s, offering a mix of established homes and new construction. Adding sidewalks through developments like 3 Palms Atlanta has made the area more walkable. “This area is west of West Midtown," says Matthew Baker, a broker with BHHS Georgia Properties and a lifelong Atlanta native with over 20 years of experience. "West Midtown started redeveloping itself back in the 2010s. So anything going on there affects this area." Though primarily residential, Carver Hills is connected to public transportation and provides a quick route to Midtown without needing the interstate. The local schools also focus on STEM programs, offering opportunities at every grade level.
3 Palms development has been adding mid-century modern homes to Carver Hills.

Quarryside views in Atlanta's largest park
A short drive or bike ride leads to Atlanta’s largest park, an essential piece of the puzzle to the west side’s ongoing development. Westside Reservoir Park opened in 2021 and covers 280 acres. Its paths connect to the Proctor Creek Greenway Trail, with plans to link it to the Beltline Westside Trail. The park's central feature is a large quarry surrounded by loblolly pines, southern red oaks and art structures. Nearby, the Northwest Library at Scotts Crossing opened in 2015 and hosts art classes and educational workshops.

Established homes and new construction at 3 Palms
The 3 Palms development, built on a once-empty corner lot, is helping drive ongoing revitalization. These new homes offer modern and contemporary midcentury-style designs and range in price from $539,000 to $575,000. The surrounding neighborhood was developed in the 1950s, occupied by longtime residents and filled with homes mostly under 2,000 square feet. Ranch-style and minimal traditional properties range from $167,000 to $340,000. While the area doesn’t have many sidewalks, a few have been added near 3 Palms, helping bring more walkability to the neighborhood as it grows.

Quick drive to Midtown Atlanta
Carver Hills is primarily residential but just a short drive to grocery stores and shopping corridors. "Westside Provisions is on Howell Mill Road and 14th on the backside of Atlantic Station,” Baker says. “That development was a catalyst that drove revitalization in that area. Once all of that was established, the surrounding areas began to come up.” Bankhead Seafood, a staple in the area, serves up Southern-style dishes and has recently been taken over by Atlanta rappers Killer Mike and T.I. Not far from there, Bellwood Coffee is a cozy, plant-filled cafe. The Publix at Moores Mill shopping center and Midtown Atlanta are about 5 miles away. “Midtown is your run-of-the-mill city life full of diverse people, restaurants and clubs. Being close by is a huge draw," Baker says.
