A main artery of Atlanta
As one of Atlanta's oldest neighborhoods, Grant Park is a thriving upscale community steeped in history and modern comforts. This suburban enclave, built around the city's oldest public park, possesses admirable Victorian architecture southeast of downtown Atlanta and all its top attractions. The neighborhood's namesake park is one of the city's most famous landmarks, home to historic monuments, buildings and, of course, Zoo Atlanta. The location helps residents balance work, recreation and education in Atlanta for daily living. From the professional opportunities that come with living near several major corporations to the thriving culture of downtown Atlanta, Grant Park puts some of the best that Georgia has on its residents' doorsteps. Victor Rodriguez, a 7-year Realtor with Watkins Real Estate Associates, says, “It’s a safe area that has lower single-family home prices than other neighborhoods in metro Atlanta.”

The most famous landmark and attraction of Grant Park is Zoo Atlanta, home to more than 1,000 animals and representing over 200 species. Feed the giraffes, check out the wildlife presentations or bring children to the magic show for a fun day of discovery. Cradling Zoo Atlanta, Grant Park itself is Atlanta's oldest public park and one of the city's most revered historical sites. Visitors can appreciate the many historic bridges, monuments and statues that define the park's character. The crown jewel is the stunning historic façade of Savanna Hall, a highly popular venue. Apart from the views of historic landmarks and the downtown skyline, the 131-acre park features a public swimming pool, several tennis courts, pavilions, a playground and a paved trail loop. The Atlanta Preservation Center frequently holds walking tours of Grant Park's historic sites. Residents can experience a detailed and in-depth exploration of Grant Park and Oakland Cemetery.

There are hilltop Craftsman bungalows, newly developed townhomes, Queen Anne and Victorian styles. While the Victorian-style architecture of the neighborhood's historic sites is usually not up for sale, the available homes follow the modernistic sensibilities of nouveau southern architectural trends. Single-family homes range from $375,000 to over $1.1 million, varying by the age and remodel status. Decorative stonework, front yard footpaths and wide porches are standard features amongst well-trimmed trees and carefully cultivated lawns. "Things move pretty quickly," says Kami Brown, a 13-year Realtor with HomeSmart. "It depends on the condition of the house of course, but on average things are selling within a week."

I have lived in Grant Park my entire life and find the community to be extremely diverse and nice. Though I had to go to private school for high school because the public schools are no good in the area.

I love our community! It is a small town located in a big city where we all support one another. Our community surrounds Grant Park and Zoo Atlanta so we have many public resources available to residents. The historic homes surround the park.
