Peachtree Center’s high-rise condos overlook downtown Atlanta

Peachtree Center is home to some of Atlanta’s most iconic skyscrapers, and with some of them connected by skybridges, residents and visitors can enjoy a bird’s-eye look over downtown. Due to the dense nature of the district, most residents live in high-rise condos and towering apartment complexes, which were typically built in the mid- to late 1990s. Many offer balconies for a bit of the outdoors, a short walk to the MARTA public transit station — and, yes, stunning neighborhood views. Depending on size, most condos cost $110,000 to $320,000.

Locals dine at nearby hotels and The Hub at Peachtree Center

Views include Truist Plaza, a 60-story mirrored skyscraper that truly shines. And The Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel has some history: The 73-story cylindrical tower was the tallest hotel in the world when completed in 1976. For a bite on site, the Sundial Restaurant Bar & View is on the 72nd floor. Enjoy the pan-seared salmon or filet mignon amid a 360-degree view of the skyline. There are several dining options at The Hub at Peachtree Center, a food court which has more than 30 restaurants and shops. Publix supermarket is less than 3 miles away in Midtown.

John H. Calhoun Park is one of a few microparks in the area

If you're searching for a bit of green amid the concrete, there are a few microparks in the neighborhood, including John H. Calhoun Park. At just a quarter-acre, it’s no place for hikers, but it does offer a place to stop and smell the roses. The community is next to Centennial Olympic Park, a 22-acre park that commemorates the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. Besides having playgrounds, gardens and open greenspace, the park hosts events like the summer concert series Summer Sounds at Centennial Olympic Park.

Peachtree Center students attend well-rated Atlanta Public Schools

Peachtree Center is part of the Atlanta Public Schools system, which serves roughly 50,000 students. Niches gives the district a B rating. And right in the heart of downtown, the neighborhood affords an up-close view of Atlanta's scale.

GreatSchools: The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
