Polar Rock has is within walking distance of Lakewood attractions

In Atlanta's vibrant southeast region, Polar Rock is a micro-community coming into its own. "It's seen some tough times, but it's growing," says Realtor Juli St. George with Keller Williams Realty, who's been serving Atlanta homebuyers for a decade. "The Lakewood Stadium and the Lakewood Amphitheatre have been great for the area and brought more attention to this corner of Atlanta." The community may not have as many restaurants, shops or attractions, but it's surrounded by parks and recreation spaces, according to St. George. Major highways also border the neighborhood, so getting into downtown Atlanta or any of its attractions is accessible. Being a short walk or drive from various parks and outdoor venues has made Polar Rock more desirable and continues to support its growth.

It's an older neighborhood with a simple grid layout and small yards elevated from the street. "One of the most notable things about this area is that you can still get a home for under $300,000 here, which isn't always the case in most neighborhoods," St. George says. A few duplex units are also available for multi-generational families and investors, with prices going from $625,000 to $650,000.
