Midcentury homes surround Atlanta’s Maranatha Seventh-day Adventist Church

All the single-family homes in Rosedale Heights are located on the neighborhood’s far west end, centered around Atlanta’s Maranatha Seventh-day Adventist Church. Two large apartment complexes and acres of dense woodlands cover the rest of the community. Most homes here were built in the 1950s and feature traditional ranch-style architecture, with attached car ports and large picture windows. Usually, listing prices range from $175,000 to $350,000.

Central recreation centers, nearby golf courses and the Southtowne Trail

The Rosel Fann Recreation Center anchors Rosedale Heights. With a large outdoor playscape, indoor basketball courts and a natatorium, it operates several community sports leagues and an annual summer camp for local kids. Anyone can sign up for a tee time right across the street at Browns Mill Golf Course. From here, folks can easily access the Southtowne Trail. This nearly 3-mile paved pathway wraps around the golf course and leads to the kudzu-covered forest at Swan Nature Preserve. Continuing north, the trail links to South Bend Park, which has a variety of outdoor recreation and an arts and culture center.

Groceries, antique markets and local restaurants just a short drive away

There aren’t any shops or restaurants in Rosedale Heights, but all the everyday essentials are just down Cleveland Avenue. Kroger, Dollar General and a couple of local businesses sit about 2 miles west, and Walmart Supercenter is right across Interstate 85. The world’s largest monthly indoor antique and interiors show, the Scott Antique Markets, occurs about 3 miles south at the Richway Shopping Center. From here, it’s only a short drive to all the local restaurants in Downtown Hapeville.

Quiet suburban streets and mature trees in Rosedale Heights

Towering oak and maple trees cover most of Rosedale Heights, a small suburb on the southern outskirts of Atlanta. All of the homes are neatly lined along two quiet streets that form a loop around the neighborhood’s west end. Sidewalks bordering Cleveland Avenue link the residential area to a central recreation center, which operates the community sports leagues and a free after school program. Southtowne Trail begins right across the street, next to one of the five city-owned golf courses in Atlanta. Along with recreation and easy access to the city, Rosedale Heights has all the everyday conveniences just 2 miles down the road.

State highways, interstates and fixed-route buses link to Downtown Atlanta

State Road 54 forms the east border of Rosedale Heights. It links to Interstate 85 about 5 miles north. From here, Downtown Atlanta is just 3 miles farther up the road. Interstate 285 runs a few miles south of the neighborhood and quickly connects to the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The city’s fixed route bus system has several stops along Cleveland Avenue in Rosedale Heights.
