Lee County 36832
Older ranch and newer farmhouse-style homes
Set along rolling suburban roads, Cloverleaf was mainly built in the 1970s. The neighborhood’s original ranch-style homes contrast with some of the newer farmhouse-style builds. “A lot of the old homes are being turned over and renovated,” says Lori Fuller, Realtor with eXp Realty Southern Branch. “It’s a lot of professors and administration from the university that live here.” The ranch homes start in the high $300,000s and can go as high as $600,000, while the farmhouses generally go between $500,000 and $600,000.Cloverleaf's community pool and nearby parks
Along with putting together events, the Cloverleaf HOA maintains its community pool. Whether getting some exercise or just splashing around, swimmers can use the outdoor pool and reserve the facility for parties. Nearby Town Creek Park has a small playground for kids to scamper around, as well as walking paths around a pond. For a little more seclusion, locals head three miles south to Chewacla State Park, featuring hiking trails that lead to a waterfall and swimming area. Those looking to stay overnight can either camp or stay in one of six stone cabins built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s.Highly rated Auburn schools
Students in Cloverleaf attend Auburn City Schools starting at Dean Road Elementary. The kindergarten through second-grade school receives an A-plus grade from Niche. Kids then move to Wrights Mill Road Elementary for third through fifth grade, followed by J.F. Drake Middle for sixth and East Samford School for seventh, all of which are rated an A. Auburn Junior High also receives an A for eighth and ninth grade. A-rated Auburn High School serves 10th through 12th grade and ranks as the 12th-best public high school in the state of Alabama.“War Eagle” on Saturday afternoons
While the Cloverleaf HOA is voluntary, it organizes events year-round for its members. Neighbors come out for an Independence Day parade and parties celebrating the beginning and the end of the school year. Throughout the city of Auburn, though, college football is the centerpiece of the social calendar. Over 88,000 orange and blue-clad fans descend on Auburn University’s campus on fall Saturdays to cheer on the Tigers at Jordan-Hare Stadium, and many more enjoy the tailgating and gameday atmosphere. Football traffic backs up throughout much of the city, increasing travel times around the area.Tiger Transit for university staff and students
Cloverleaf is just across College Street from the Auburn University campus, where many residents work. While the area is car-dependent, those affiliated with the university can take the Tiger Transit system of buses, which operates throughout the city of Auburn. Otherwise, residents can call Lee-Russell Public Transit to schedule a pickup and dropoff from the Dial-a-Ride service. Just a mile away from the neighborhood, Interstate 85 is the main corridor through the region. While several regional airports are closer to Auburn, travelers often drive the 100 miles up I-85 to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, as it offers flights to over 200 destinations.Families head to downtown Auburn for a night out
For a night out, residents of Cloverleaf will often head the mile and a half to downtown Auburn. “In Auburn, pretty much everyone goes downtown,” Fuller says. “I feel like in some college towns families might not go downtown, since it’s getting pretty wild with college kids, but that’s not true in Auburn. You’ll see strollers with college students everywhere. It’s a good mix.” Several restaurants sit off College Street the opposite way, including Acapulco’s Mexican Grill, serving tacos and enchiladas, and East Sea Fishery, a local favorite for sushi. Further down College Street, Walmart offers groceries and other essentials flanked by fast food like Krystal and Arby’s.
