Affordable homes and rental properties
Many homes in Harmon Estates were built in the early 2000s and have kept their curb appeal. Single-story brick and contemporary homes cluster along neighborhood roads, and the spacious lots have yards and driveways. Homes are typically priced between $200,000 and $230,000 — lower than neighboring communities like Mimms Trail and Whipporwill Estates, with a blend of rental properties and homes for sale. “It’s mostly rentals in Harmon,” Baath adds. "I wouldn't say short-term rentals — people usually stay for over a year."Trekking through the trails at Chewacla State Park
Chewacla State Park is 3 miles from Harmon Estates, and people from all over Lee County come to the 696-acre park to trek the hiking trails and relax to the sounds of the crashing water at the scenic waterfall. The park has several mountain bike-accessible trails made in partnership with the Central Alabama Mountain Peddlers, ranging from the Camp Trail, which takes bikers through a flat loop around the park’s campground, to the 3-mile CCC Trail that has steep dips and quick turns for advanced riders. Cabins are available for rent, too. “It even has glamping now,” says Lori Fuller, a Realtor with eXp Realty who has lived in the Auburn area for over 25 years. “A lot of people love that it’s easily accessible right off I-85.”Auburn City Schools earn high marks
