Midcentury New England homes line the enclosed residential roadways in a town known for its peaceful feel and relatively low sticker prices. Homes tend to cost less than $500,000. “It really is a middle class, single-family area, which is appealing to a lot of people,” says Linn Doll Butler, an agent with Afonso Real Estate in nearby Milford.

Golf course with historic rocket launching site
The neighborhood’s public golf course offers visitors a glimpse into global scientific history. It was here that a liquid-fueled rocket launched into the atmosphere for the first time in human history. Inventor and scientist Robert Goddard, a native of nearby Worcester, launched the rocket to an altitude of 41 ft. in two and a half seconds before it fell 184 ft. from its launching frame in 1926. Locals who don’t care about rockets and would rather just golf can purchase season passes to the course.
The neighborhood shares its name with a hiking trail that stretches about 2-miles down and back. The forested area also has baseball fields, picnic tables and a thriving butterfly population. For indoor fun, neighbors bowl and play arcade games at Bowlero.
