In the winter, Auburn’s Lighted Santa Parade and Tree Lighting features trucks decked to the halls with holiday lights. When getting around Downtown Auburn, residents can hop on one of the buses. The city is also very walkable. “There’s a few different trails that go through the entire area,” Mannila says. C Street connects residents with parks and amenities to the north, but Main Street links people to the train station. Auburn Station services the S line, which runs between Seattle and Tacoma. Those who prefer to drive can take the I-5 14 miles to Tacoma and 28 miles to Seattle. Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is 17 miles from Downtown Auburn.
