Aurora suburb neighboring the plains
Tree-lined sidewalks decorate the entrance to East Quincy Highlands. Manicured lawns are a point of pride and a backdrop for conversations at the mailbox or on the way to neighborhood parks pocketed in the community. “East Quincy Highlands competes quite well for first-time homebuyers in southeast Aurora,” says Jason Morris, Realtor of eXp Realty and host of the Living in Aurora Colorado YouTube channel. “In fact, that’s actually where we bought our first home, and it was a great introduction to homeownership in Aurora.”
East Quincy Highlands is a community located in Aurora, County.

Craftsman-influenced homes lining cul-de-sacs
The neighborhood is sandwiched between two of Aurora’s main thoroughfares, East Quincy Avenue and East Hampden Avenue. The Plains Conservation Center to the north and open space to the east create a natural sound buffer around the neighborhood. Traditional homes bearing Craftsman influence line cul-de-sacs in subdivisions overseen by East Quincy Highlands homeowners associations. “The builders used a unique method that combined manufactured and foundation styles,” Morris says, noting how parts of the home were shielded from the elements during construction before being fitted onto the wooden frame. “You wouldn’t know just by looking at it, but it’s this kind of care that makes for longstanding homes.” Earthy blue and natural green sidings mix with brick and stone on the fronts and backs of the late 1990s and early 2000s homes, which list between $485,000 and $660,000. While list prices vary depending on the size of the home, the HOA fees are roughly $160 per quarter. East Quincy Highlands has a CAP Index Crime Score of 1 out of 10, compared to the national average of 4, thanks in part to the neighborhood watch, which is comprised of volunteers.
Larger homes with multi car garages are standard fare in East Quincy Highlands.

Walks to parks and diving into Aurora Reservoir
Highlands Park has a bright green and blue playground stationed away from the street, separated by an open field where soccer players can practice. Kent Park is another neighborhood green space accessible by the community’s paved paths where children teeter on the rubber duck and climb the curved lattice structure. With many natural open spaces around the neighborhood, including the Plains Conservation Center’s 1,100 acres of short prairie grass, East Quincy Highlands may be prone to an elevated fire risk.
The Plains Conservation Center is free to visit and hosts regular programming. “Wildlife they might see, or that call the area home, include bald eagles, prairie dogs and pronghorn sheep, which you can see herds of as they make their way through,” says Sara Van Holbeck, Senior Supervisor of Marketing and Communications in Aurora’s Parks, Recreation and Open Space department. Boaters and paddleboarders hit the water as soon as the ice melts at Aurora Reservoir. Joggers and bikers enjoy the quiet along the trails that surround the water. The reservoir hosts events, including the S’mores on the Shore, where bonfire pits are brought in for people to gather around the fire and roast marshmallows.
Highlands Park features a playground and a large openspace.
