Abundant recreation amid Denver's urban sprawl
From scoring birdies to birdwatching, living in Heather Ridge offers various recreation opportunities. It’s roughly 9 miles southeast of downtown Denver and primarily features condominiums and townhouses, resulting in low-maintenance living for many residents. Locals of all ages live close to their day-to-day necessities, with public schools, a commuter train station and the interstate all within blocks. However, Heather Ridge’s outdoor amenities set it apart more than other features. Eighteen holes of golf weave between residences, while sports facilities, urban wetlands and an indoor pool are all easily accessible.

From golf games to waterslide runs
The Heather Ridge Golf Course runs throughout the neighborhood’s eastern section. Established in 1972, this formerly private course was made public in 2010. Golfers often play games for $50 or less. Just north of the neighborhood, Utah Park invites visitors to explore more than 45 acres of fields, trails and athletic facilities surrounding a central pond. Its indoor pool creates year-round aquatic excitement with a winding waterslide and a massive tipping bucket. The similarly sized Jewell Wetlands Park also neighbors Heather Ridge to the north. This wildlife conservation area offers a serene experience with a butterfly garden and nature-enveloped trails. About 1 mile south is the massive Cherry Creek State Park, with hiking and biking trails and a reservoir. “It’s one of the only places nearby where you can have a motorized boat and go have fun on the water,” says Realtor Landin Smith of RE/MAX Professionals.
