Saddle Rock offers a diverse housing scene with spacious lots and golf course views. "It's a planned community with a European feel,” says Kathleen Surges, broker associate at Compass Realty, who is local to the neighborhood and has sold homes around Colorado since 2002. “Here, you can find anything from condos to fully custom builds.” Early 2000s modern traditional and craftsman-style homes are common, and properties range from around 6,000 square feet to over 2 acres. Single-family homes start in the low $500,000s and reach about $1.8 million, while condos and townhouses range from the low $300,000s to the upper $500,000s. Homeowners associations maintain the area’s public green spaces and host community programs and events, with fees ranging from around $20 to $420 a month, depending on the subdivision.

Private neighborhood amenities and outdoor recreation
The Saddle Rock Community Center has an outdoor pool, tennis courts, a basketball court and a clubhouse. Saddle Rock East has a pool and a playground, and most multi-family subdivisions offer private pools and fitness centers. “Access to recreation community recreation centers is a big draw for buyers,” says Lisa Jones, an experienced Aurora real estate agent with LIV Sotheby’s International Realty. “And the golf course is probably the number one feature of the neighborhood.” The public Saddle Rock Golf Course has beautifully maintained greens and fairways that wind between the community’s residential pockets. The course also features an expansive driving range and a bar and grill. The 7-acre Larkspur Park has a playground, picnic tables, horseshoe pits and access to the Piney Creek Trail. The 9-mile paved trail runs northwest to Cherry Creek State Park and southeast to the Ponderosa Preserve. “The Aurora Reservoir is also close by,” says Jones. The reservoir is a popular spot for swimming, kayaking and fishing, especially in the summer months.

Southlands shopping
Saddle Rock is less than five minutes from Southlands, an open-air mall and one of the biggest shopping hubs in Aurora. You can find big box stores, supermarkets, nationally known brands and clothing boutiques here, along with medical offices and a movie theater. Commuting and public transit
Locals are around 10 miles from both the Denver Tech Center and Buckley Space Force Base, some of the biggest employment hubs in the area. E-470 is an express toll road that runs across the outskirts of the Denver area and provides a direct route north to Denver International Airport. “While you have to pay for the toll road, it’s the preferred route for many locals because it’s less traveled and has minimal traffic,” Jones says. Regional Transportation District (RTD) operates the area’s bus routes, with stops along East Smoky Hill Road.
Cherry Creek schools
Local students are served by the highly rated Cherry Creek School District, one of the most sought-after districts in the Denver area. “The schools are a draw for many people looking to move to the area,” Surges says. The district is known for its robust career and technical education programs, from business administration to hospitality and food production. The district also offers an open enrollment school choice program, allowing residents to apply for their preferred schools.
Liberty Middle School is part of the Cherry Creek School District.
