Utah Park
Namesake park
In the late 2000s, massive renovations occurred at Utah Park at the corner of Peoria Street and Jewell Avenue. The park has 46 acres of space and now has a natural pond with various waterfowl, a large baseball diamond, plenty of space for soccer and multiple tennis courts. The picnic shelter can also be reserved for parties and events. There’s also a playground and a paved trail that encompasses the park. “The park also has a rec center with a swimming pool with swim lanes, diving boards and a water playground for young kids,” says Jay Sandstrom, a broker associate at Your Castle Real Estate. Peoria Hills Park has over 9 acres with lots of green space and a shaded playground. Jewell Wetlands Park’s purpose is to preserve the natural ecosystem. There are multiple observation decks and walkways to observe nature. A small parking area is located off Jewell Avenue.Open enrollment schooling
Colorado is a state that allows residents to enroll at schools in state districts for which they are not zoned. While most of the public schools in the area are part of the Aurora Joint School District Number 28, which receives a C-plus overall grade on Niche, Overland High School is also located near Utah Park, which is part of the A-rated Cherry Creek School District. Of course, enrollment is going to be based on available space. Next to Overland High School is Prairie Middle School, a B-minus-rated school within the Cherry Creek School District. Ponderosa Elementary School is west of Jewell Avenue, with a 14-to-1 student-teacher ratio and a B-minus overall Niche grade.Townhouses and single-family homes
Most of the homes in Utah Park were built in the 1970s and are a mix of single-family homes and townhouses. The townhouses run in the $300,000 price range and are concentrated in the northwest portion of the neighborhood near the corner of Peoria Street and Mississippi Avenue. These are three-bedroom, two-story homes with between 1,000 and 1,500 square feet. “You can find a little below median pricing for the Denver metro area in Utah Park,” Sandstrom says. “The median price in this neighborhood is about $500,000, while in Denver, it’s 550,000.” The single-family homes have three to four bedrooms and are split-level, ranch-style and colonial.Taste the world in Utah Park

The restaurant owner will sometimes be seen waiting tables at this family-owned eatery. Senor Ric’s has served the area since 1986 with frequent dine-in specials featuring various Mexican entrees. Takero Mucho on Mississippi Avenue is hidden in a strip mall near Peoria Street and Mississippi Avenue. The restaurant is known for its tacos topped with chorizo and potent margaritas.DIA is a short drive
