In the summer, kids can sign up for activities such as Neighborhood Art on Monday afternoons. “All of our programs are community-focused,” says Tim Wagner with the Fox Valley Park District media relations team. “Every resident within the Fox Valley Park District lives within half a mile of our parks. The residents in South Farnsworth really look forward to the Juneteenth celebrations, which we host annually, as well as other events we sponsor.”

Primary students attend Olney C. Allen Elementary School while secondary students attend Henry W. Cowherd Middle School, which feeds into East Aurora High School. East Aurora High boasts and earns high accolades on Niche for diversity, teachers, clubs and activities. Post-secondary students can extend their learning at Waubonsee Community College, which offers over 100 degrees and certificates and is a comprehensive two-year post-secondary institution. The college is located on the same grounds as the Rush Copley Healthplex.

South Farnsworth is mostly residential; therefore, restaurants and eateries are just minutes away in neighboring communities. To start your morning with a refreshing cup of coffee and a yummy pastry, head over to Java Plus. If you show up on the right morning, you may get to tap your feet and sway your body to the sounds of local bands, who take over a corner of this quaint spot. O’Malley’s Pub & Eatery is a vibrant laidback spot with classic bar fare, including wings, pizza and beer.
